Our Research
Our research topics include climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, sustainable development, community-based management, and resource governance.
We are especially interested in sustainability challenges facing coastal communities and settlements:
Vulnerability, resilience, and adaptive capacities
Marginality
Collaborative and participatory research and development
Local and indigenous knowledge
Community-based resource governance and management
Payment for ecosystem services
We consider these as key to promote sustainable and equitable development in Southeast Asia, especially for those directly exposed to climate-related disasters and anthropogenic pressures on marine resources that they depend on for their livelihoods. Our research increases our understanding about these challenges.
